Vibration Analysis
(Note: Kindly refer our “Information and Knowledge” page for detailed information about Vibration before selecting the links below.)
Vibration Management is very important tool for identifying the severity of vibration, root causes of the mechanical defects those causing vibration in all rotating / reciprocating equipments such as electric motors, gear boxes, compressors, pumps, turbines, blower fans, engines, conveyors, transmission systems like pulleys, belts and taking corrective actions in order to nullify the early, untimely, premature failures and get optimum, flawless, peak performance from machines & equipment with improved efficiency.

The following are the different solutions for Managing Vibration of equipment in your company.

Vibration Audits
Vibration Condition Monitoring
Consultancy and Support
Verification of Healthy Installation of new machinery
Corrective Actions & Rectifications
Training in Vibration Management

(See the left side links for the above)

Vibration Audits
We shall access your identified machines in your plant and give recommendation, set frequency of inspection for those and we will suggest corrective actions. In this, Vibration Analysis of every machine viz. Electric Motor, Compressor, Pump, Turbine- Generator, Blower Fan, etc is given in details.

Vibration Condition Monitoring
Here we will monitor your selected critical equipment for severity of vibration to maintain the peak performance from equipment, for you. The frequency of visits will depend upon severity of causes of vibration in particular equipment. The equipment with better condition may not require frequent inspection & analysis, but the equipment with multiple causes of vibration and that too at higher level, may require frequent visits until corrective action is taken.
Please refer in the Condition Monitoring Section for more details.

Consultancy and Support (Must Read the complete article - Link given at left side of panel)
  1. You collect the data and we will analyze it and report back our findings. You send us vibration measurement data of your equipment and we will interpret the data and report you the condition of your equipment.
  2. You call us for support in vibration management and we will visit your company, assess your equipment, and plan a predictive maintenance (Condition Monitoring) program for your critical equipments.

Verification of Healthy Installation of new machinery
It is always better to start in healthy condition. If we leave root causes in machine at very beginning then during operation the causes keep on exaggerating and then result in catastrophic failures of that equipment.

We will carry vibration analysis and probing studies on your newly installed machines and will confirm whether the quality of foundation, base rail, fastening, coupling, alignment & transferred vibration are all okay or not. We will suggest corrective actions if we find any causes of vibration at suspected condition.

Corrective Actions & Rectifications
As we have an expertise in electrical rotating machines & gear boxes, any kind of correction in any type of electrical rotating machines/ gear boxes of any rating can be done, for example, Replacement of Bearings/ Gears, Ultrasound-Guided Greasing of Bearings, Laser Alignment, In- Situ balancing of rotor, etc.

Training in Vibration Management
We conduct courses for vibration management.
  1. Basics of Vibration Management
  2. Level I certification Course in Vibration Analysis.

Benefits of Vibration Management
  1. Know any of the faults developing in the equipment, in its very prior stage.
  2. Spare parts inventories are reduced as we always get time for procurement of spare parts for repairs during scheduled machinery maintenance and manage the service personals.
  3. Catastrophic failures of machinery can be avoided – damage from catastrophic failure is usually much more than otherwise would have been.
  4. One can achieve flawless services from motor.
  5. 24 x 7 hours of continuous operation of the motor goes easier.
  6. Reduces Maintenance Cost.
  7. Reduces Unscheduled Maintenance – repairs can be made at times that least affect production.
  8. Minimizes or eliminates costly downtime – Increases profitable uptime
  9. Machinery performance is optimized – machinery always operates with specifications.
  10. Reduces excessive electric power consumption caused by inefficient machinery performance, thereby saving money on energy requirements.
  11. Reduces need for stand-by machine or additional floor space to cover excessive downtime – less capital investment required for equipment or plant.
  12. Increases plant capacity.
  13. Reduces depreciation of capital investment caused by poor machinery maintenance – well maintained machinery lasts longer and performs better.
  14. Reduces unnecessary machinery repairs – machines are repaired only when their performance is less than optimal.
  15. Reduces the number of dissatisfied customers or lost customers due to poor quality - with less than optimal performance, quality always suffers.
  16. Reduces rework of goods caused by machines operating at less than optimal condition.
  17. Reduces scrap caused by poor performing machinery.
  18. Reduces overtime required to make up for lost production due to broken down or poor performing machinery.
  19. Reduces penalties that result from late deliveries caused by broken down or poorly performing machinery.
  20. Reduces warranty claims due to poor product quality caused by poorly performing machinery.
  21. Reduces the possibility of accepting recently purchased new or used machinery with defects – the invoice is not paid until the defects are corrected.
 22. Increase the likelihood that newly purchased new or used machinery meets specifications.
   23. Increases machinery safety – injuries are often caused by poorly performing machinery.
   24. Reduces safety penalties levied against a company for unsafe machinery.
  1. Reduces insurance rates because well maintained machinery increases safety.
  26. Reduces the time required to make machinery repairs – advance notice of machinery condition permits more efficient organization of the repair process.
  1. Increases the speed that machinery can be operated, if desirable.
  2. Increases the ease of operation of machinery
a) Eliminates unnecessary disassembly.
b) Reduce,
  1. Labor Both Direct and Indirect (Operators, Repairers, Supervisory, Management, Engineering, Overtime/penalty rates)
  2. Product Waste (Scrap, Replacement Production, Clean-up, Reprocessing, Lost Production, Lost spot sales, Off-Site Storage)
  3. Services (Emergency Hire, Sub-Contractors, Travelling, Consultants, Utility Repairs, Temporary Accommodation)
  4. Materials (Replacement Parts, Fabricated Parts, Materials, Welding Consumables, Workshop, Hire, Shipping, ,Storage, Space, Handling, Disposal, Design Changes, Inventory  Replenishment, Quality Control)
  5. Equipment (OEM, Energy Waste, Shutdown, Handover, Start-Up, Inefficiencies, Emergency Hire, Damaged Items)
  6. Additional Capital (Replacement Equipment, New Insurance Charges, Buildings & Storage)
  7. Consequential (Penalty Payments, Lost Future Sales, Legal Fees, Loss of Future Contracts, Environmental Clean-up,  Death & Injury, Safety Rectification)
  8. Administration (Documents and Reports, Purchase Orders, Meetings, Meeting Rooms, Stationary,Planning, Schedule Changes, Investigations and Audits, Invoicing and Matching

 29. Reduces penalties that result from late deliveries caused by broken down or poorly performing machinery.
